IDM Program Two, Module E
“Three Additional Case Studies for Obtaining the Certificate of Developmental Interviewing and Supervision”
Students who have completed Gateway and Modules A, B, and D are eligible to apply for entering Program Two to obtain a Developmental Interviewing/Supervision Certificate. The certificate serves the needs of coaches and consultants whose primary interest lies in mentoring coaches and in-house managers who (want to) serve as coaches. The Certificate does not comprise teaching privileges which must be obtained separately through a licensing agreement with IDM Associates (IDMA). Based on feedback to the first case study written in Module D of Program One, the student writes three additional case studies. Module C (NP Questionnaire) is recommended but not required for completing this module. Personal mentoring is available in 4-hr blocks as needed (see http://www.interdevelopmentals.org/certification-mentoring.php).
Module E aims to provide the student with comprehensive assessment and feedback skills based on the Constructive-Developmental Framework. Work in the module is carried out within a cohort of students working on the Certificate, with the instructor as a group mentor. Interviewees are volunteers, not professional clients. Feedback is given to volunteers only once the case studies have been accepted by IDM.
Just as Module D, Module E ends with an exit interview exploring the experiences of the student and reflecting upon the result of his/her interviewing and assessment activities.
